Abstract. This article examines the issue of modern technologies and family values in contemporary children’s literature. In this era of cutting-edge technologies, the relevance of this study stems from the interest in works that depict artificial intelligence and robotics. The purpose of the article is to identify ways in which family values and qualities such as love, kindness, and compassion are conveyed to human-like robots created through programming in the works of author D. Mamyrbaeva. The article discusses the influence of family values on the upbringing of young readers, particularly with regard to the images of the robot father and robot mother, with an emphasis on the roles of men, women, and children within the family.
The study shows that modern technology in literary works serves not only to advance the plot and stimulate the imagination, but also to promote family values and moral qualities. In the short story “Robot. Virus. Feeling,” the world of robots and robotic characters is associated with the concepts of love, kindness, and compassion, emphasizing that human virtues and emotions always prevail over technology and any form of programming. Meanwhile, the images of the robot father, robot mother, and robot child in the story “The Robot Family” show that they cannot fully convey family values. At the same time, the aspect of gender education is emphasized by depicting the roles of the mother, father, and child within the family. The author places family values above all else.
The scientific significance of this study lies in its examination of children’s science fiction prose within the framework of technology, family values, and a gender-based approach. The results of the study show that modern technologies in the digital age are unable to replace family values.
