This article explores the importance of poetry in shaping students’ spiritual and moral development, with a particular focus on the works of one of the prominent representatives of contemporary Kazakh poetry – Akberen Elgezek. The poet’s profound and meaningful poems convey national values, moral and ethical norms, and themes of human dignity and spiritual elevation through artistic language, positively influencing the worldview and inner world of the younger generation. The article analyzes effective ways of integrating Elgezek’s poetry into the educational process, its educational potential, and its impact on students' spiritual growth. Through the analysis of poems such as «Alaburtu», «Longing for the Village», and «Wish"», the article examines how poetry can foster love for the homeland, respect for parents, honor, morality, and patriotism among students. Practical methods for incorporating poetry into the teaching and educational process are proposed, emphasizing the role of literary works in character formation. The research findings show that Elgezek’s poetry enriches students’ spiritual world and contributes to the development of their creative thinking. This approach also provides specific methodological recommendations for teachers and educators. The poet’s deep philosophical reflections and spiritual inquiries help young people engage in self-discovery and develop existential thinking. Elgezek’s poetry is not only a source of aesthetic pleasure but also a powerful tool for instilling national spirit and reviving historical memory.
