ABAY KUNANBAYEV'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE DISCOVERY OF THE CONCEPT "HEART/ZHŮREK"

The purpose of the article is to show the influence of Abay Kunanbaev's heritage on Kazakhs understanding of the word heart/júrek. The target audience of the article is not only experts of Abay's life, but also those who has yet to discover this great thinker’s works. 44 proverbs and sayings with the heart/júrek component from the Russian and Kazakh languages were analyzed by authors of this article. Abay Kunanbaev made a significant contribution to changing the national mentality of the Kazakh people, in particular, to the perception of the concept of the heart/júrek. It was Abay Kunanbaev in his works who began to talk about the heart as a carrier of morality, conscience, emotions. Teachers in their professional activities should promote through the study of country science material of a bilingual student using the example of a comparative analysis of Russian and Kazakh phraseologies with the heart/júrek component.
