The article examines the etymology of family conflict in Russian and Kazakh women's prose based on the works of L. Petrushevskaya, L. Ulitskaya, E. Manoilo and S. Doszhan. The problems, poetics and context of the depiction of family conflicts in modern literature are analyzed. The general trends and national peculiarities in approaches to the topic of family relations are revealed. Special attention is paid to the socio-cultural factors influencing the formation and development of conflicts, as well as the artistic means of their representation. The gender aspects of the depiction of family problems in the context of post-Soviet realities are considered. The research methodology is based on the complex application of comparative and structural-semantic analysis, which makes it possible to identify the multilevel nature of family conflicts in the literature. A detailed analysis of narrative strategies and methods of constructing conflict situations in the works of the authors under study is carried out. The study shows that family conflict in modern women's prose acts as a way of understanding deep social and cultural processes, reflecting the transformation of gender roles, the clash of traditions and modernization. The results of the work contribute to the understanding of the specifics of women's literature and can be used in further comparative studies.
