Abstract. . When analyzing the ideological and thematic content of I. Zhansugurov's poem "Kulager", the article examines the significance of one of the most important elements of culture - color. The paper presents the theoretical and practical aspects of the concept of "color symbol". The use of symbols and color meanings in Ilyas Zhansugurov's poem is purely individual, directly related to the poet's worldview, his mental and perceptual characteristics. When considering Zhansugurov's artistic world, where a creative reworking of reality takes place, we actualize implicit meanings, reconstruct the course of associative thoughts that are related to coloristics. The purpose of the study is to consider the role of color symbols in revealing the world of I. Zhansugurov's artistic work "Kulager".
In the course of the work, a number of theoretical works on semiotics and color designation were studied, materials were used in related fields of scientific knowledge - linguoculturology, ethnolinguistics, representing color as a symbolic cultural reflection. During the analysis, it was revealed that Zhansugurov, as a poet, uses color names to create an imaginative artistic world, namely, to contrast the sublime world, in which the color designation "white" prevails, and the lower "black" world. The poet uses color duality and juxtaposes contextual color relationships with the characters and events of the poem. The authors conclude that the color symbol is important as part of the disclosure of the artistic content of the work.
