In the modern educational system, artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used as an important tool for developing students’ skills in perceiving, understanding, and analyzing literary works. The article comprehensively examines effective ways of applying AI in the teaching of prose texts. Firstly, AI allows for the automatic identification of literary devices (metaphor, epithet, simile, hyperbole, litotes, metonymy, synecdoche), helping students consciously perceive the imagery of a literary work. Secondly, through statistical analysis methods, the frequency of word usage, key concepts of the text, and quantitative characteristics of the author’s style are identified. Thirdly, the visualization of prose works not only develops students’ imagination but also enhances their visual comprehension of the text content. In addition, AI serves as an explanatory dictionary, revealing the meanings of rare or archaic words and contributing to a deeper understanding of literary texts. Moreover, AI-based exercises and new methods for assessing students’ comprehension are proposed. Such opportunities not only improve students’ analytical abilities but also develop their critical thinking, vocabulary, and cultural competence. As a result, artificial intelligence appears as an effective tool that elevates traditional literary education to a new scientific and digital level.
