Renkler; Türk mitolojisi, edebiyatı ve folkloru içinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu durum adlara da yansımıştır. Kişi adlarında renklerin kullanılması dil ve kültürün etkisiyle ortaya çıkmış ilgi çekici dil yapılarını oluşturmaktadır. Bu tür kişi adları, genellikle doğada bulunan renklerin insanların üzerinde bıraktığı algılarla bağlantılı olarak seçilmektedir. Tarih boyunca insanlar, renklere farklı anlamlar yüklemişlerdir ve yüklenen bu anlamlardan yola çıkarak renklerle türetilmiş adları kişi adları olarak kullanmışlardır. Renkler; kişiliği, duyguyu, kültürel değerleri ve bazen de tarihî figürleri simgeleyen unsurlar olarak insanlara ad olarak koyulmuştur. Türk ad verme geleneğinde önemli bir yere sahip olan renkler, kültürün ve inanç sisteminin bir parçası olmuştur. Genellikle duygusal, psikolojik ve kültürel bağlamda şekillenen bu adlar Özbek Türklerinin ad verme geleneğinde de önemli bir yere sahiptir. Özbek Türklerinde kültürün bir parçası olan renklerin kişi adlarına yansıması geleneksel yapının bir yansımasıdır. Yazımızda Özbek Türkçesinde tespit edilen renk adları ile oluşturulmış kişi adlarına değinilecektir. Çalışmanın sınırlarını aşmamak adına sadece ak (beyaz), kara (siyah), mavi (gök) ve sarı renk ile oluşturulmuş kişi adları hakkında bilgi verilmeye çalışılmıştır.
